DISCOVERING MARINE FAUNA AND FLORA
Students observe local species and learn how to preserve them with simple, environmentally friendly actions. Immersed in an exceptional natural setting, they discover and discuss, with group presentations to learn at their own pace. An experience combining exploration, awareness and sharing, to marvel at the region's marine treasures.
Classification workshop
Indoor workshop during which pupils discover, analyse and learn to classify the marine fauna and flora characteristic of the Granville coast.
Through interactive activities and educational games, they explore the different species, their habitats, their ecological interactions and their role within the local marine ecosystem. This fun approach promotes learning while raising participants' awareness of the richness and preservation of this unique natural heritage.
Discover shellfish farming
At the heart of shellfish farms and production sites, students have the opportunity to explore the different techniques used to farm shellfish, focusing particularly on oyster farming methods for oysters and mussel farming methods for mussels.
This immersion allows them to better understand the important role these activities play in the local economy and the preservation of marine ecosystems.
Discovering the foreshore
Equipped with a net and guided by an instructor, pupils set off to explore rocky and sandy foreshores when the tide goes out. During this immersive shore fishing activity, they observe the exposed marine habitats up close, identify the species that inhabit these areas, and learn how to handle the organisms they encounter with care.
This experience gives them a better understanding of the coastal ecosystem, while stimulating their curiosity and respect for this fragile and biodiverse environment.
Discovering the ports of Granville
Students embark on an exciting adventure through the ports of Granville, exploring five centuries of fishing history. During a treasure hunt, they visit various sites around the port and learn about the impact of fishing on the development of the town and its inhabitants over the centuries.
This treasure hunt invites them to solve puzzles, collect clues and retrace key moments in Granville's maritime history, while developing their powers of observation and historical curiosity.
Birdwatching around Le Roc
Along the paths that wind through the coastline, equipped with binoculars, the pupils embark on a real exploration of the region's birdlife. They take the time to observe and identify the many species of birds that inhabit Granville Bay - Chausey, a site particularly rich in biodiversity.
Guided by facilitators or teachers, they learn to recognise the different species based on their visual and auditory characteristics, while discovering the specific behaviours and habitats of each bird.
The kite workshop
The kites take flight and twirl in the sky, after being carefully crafted during a creative workshop. During this activity, students have the opportunity to give free rein to their imagination, learning the techniques needed to make their own kites.
This fun and educational experience allows them to combine creativity and hands-on learning, while enjoying watching their creations come to life in the air.
